Hard to judge since it’s not a runner. Your looking at a couple grand in repairs right off the bat. The interior/exterior looks great though, other than the cloudy headlights.

Do not buy. “blown engine” less than 1 month after he replaced trans mount and coils. Does not sound fun.

Engine blown? RUN.
FYI we took in a similar mileage (I’m guessing 12300 means 123,000) Speed6 for $4500 that needed the usual broken driveline items. So figure once you GET it running (and engines are NOT CHEAP for these) you’ll probably need rear diff, mounts, axles, etc.

I bought one project car, once, and will never buy one again. It was a 1991 Subaru XT-6 that had some serious wear and tear issues. The price was right and I though I had identified most of the issues during a pre purchase inspection but after putting about $2800 (1500 more than expected) it and was still having issues crop up like failed air suspension and intermittently operational power steering. So I donated it to a charity, just couldn’t trust it. I love the Mazda Speed series but would not touch something with a blown engine.

aren’t those two different cars? I’d say the running one is NP.

Go for it !
These cars are well built, durable and extremely reliable.
You can’t go wrong with a Speed6.

Durable, I think not. I’ve owned one since 2006 and have since replaced the rear diff win an OEM unit and a transfer case with a junkyard one. Also it is in need of a clutch and a replacement for the junkyard trans case. Great motor, great car, utterly terrible drivetrain.

Have owned one since 2006, you do not want to deal with the drivetrain in this. Absolute blast to drive, but it was never meant to handle the power. Have replaced the rear diff and trans case in mine, also due for another trans case (was a junkyard unit) and clutch. I also only have 49,xxx miles on mine.

I guess I can’t read either!
